Hired At Growlers

Nancy did as instructed by the young man and the young woman before she went to bed. That is, she put on her Growlers costume—a worn and stuffy grizzly bear suit—and practiced her dance in the living room while waving at passing cars through the window. Her legs ached and she couldn’t breathe very well, and at one point a car with two toddlers in the backseat drove by and yelled, “We love you teddy bear!” and Nancy felt her heart split open, like fingers pulling apart window curtains to let the light in.
