rumble

This is the archived version of the June - July 2005 issue. The current issue is here

update: The archived issues are now online. There is still some work to be done but all the stories and bios are available.

This is the ninth issue of rumble. It's also the first anniversary issue and after some bits of disruption including relocation of the website, a modest redesign, and quite a lot of people still not knowing where we are, here we be.

We have a quality issue, we think, with some new talent coming in and some established rumble authors bringing us new stuff, so we thought we showcase it all with a redesign that brings a little more regularity to the appearance and the internal code of the website. The pages should be a bit smaller as far as file size, and of course they should load super-fast as usual. If you're having any trouble accessing the site, drop us a note at headsfromspace @ yahoo dot com or click on over to the empty head for updates.

For people new to the site, rumble is an e-zine that specializes in micro-fiction, defined here as fiction of less than 500 words. It can even be as short as one sentence, but it would have to be a damn brilliant one. Sometimes we ease the word limit a bit if we especially like the story, but in general we keep to the guidelines. Of course we don't limit the form a story should take, so you may see experimental stuff from time to time. We also publish a bit of art and poetry every issue just to keep our hand in, and because we think it's nice.

We're rushing this issue online even though not all the pages have been updated. The reason is that we're late with the issue and didn't want to delay any longer. So you will find that the bio and links pages are missing. We'll get them online as soon as possible. Just wasn't enough time to do it with all the disruptions going on.

Now our fingers are tired from all the typing and coding and molesting of our grandmothers and what not (we do not molest our grandmothers) so we have to go now. Enjoy the issue and please give us your comments. They are few and far between but greatly appreciated.
