valid xhtml 1.0 strict
All the pages on this website were built on Notepad using valid xhtml 1.0 strict, meaning that the code behind the pages allows them to appear virtually identical across a wide variety of web browsers. It also means that some html code commonly used on other web pages (colored scrollbars for example) will not work here.
Why is this important? There are hundreds of web browsers in use across the internet, and these browsers operate by different rules, causing some web pages to literally self-destruct if not built with cross-browser compliant code.
You can test the validity of the xhtml code used on this page by clicking this link. For more information on building web pages with xhtml visit W3 Schools.
The images used on rumble are mostly from a free photo website called stock.xchng. Nearly all of the photographs there are available for use on non-commercial websites.
The host of this website is Ice Storm City, which offers 10 megabytes of ad-free webspace at no cost. The servers are very fast and responsive and I've had no problems of any kind with the hosting.
History: rumble was created in an effort to showcase new and emerging web authors. We're grateful to the many people who helped us in our beginning efforts to seek an audience on The Internet, and hope that this site will grow and provide a home for good creative fiction that would otherwise go unread.
