This is the sixth issue of rumble and the first bi-monthly one. When we first started publishing back in July we decided to publish monthly as long as we could turn out quality issues. Now it becomes necessary to abandon that schedule, at least for the time being. In a very short time our little zine has made a name for itself and established a reputation for high standards in short fiction, a reputation we believe has been earned, thanks in large part to our talented contributors.
The way to keep it, we think, is to publish only when we have an issue worth publishing. So here is the sixth issue. We think it's one of our best.
And now a word to our prospective contributors: please be aware that rumble and its editorial staff retain the right to edit your work as necessary. The reasons for this are obvious. Most of the time it is a matter of deleting a comma, inserting a forgotten word, or splitting a paragraph in two. We have no desire (and little time) to make creative changes. If your work has been published and you see something that doesn't look right, just e-mail us. Best case scenario: we will e-mail you ahead of time to discuss any changes.
A new feature appears in this issue: Reviews of published work. Our first is a review of Luis C. Berriozabal's Raw Materials, a collection of prose and poetry by the author of The Absent Husband. Luis has had three pieces accepted at rumble and we are to happy to provide a little exposure for this talented author.
Will we review your book? Yes we will. If you have been published in rumble and can provide us with a free copy. We can't promise a glowing review but we can promise an honest one. E-mail us for details.
